Horizon Europe is the ambitious EU research & innovation framework programme for 2021-2027 with a budget of €95.5 billion.
Its overarching goals are:
• to strengthen the EU's scientific and technological bases and the European Research Area (ERA);
• to boost Europe's innovation capacity, competitiveness and jobs;
• to deliver on citizen's priorities and sustain our socio-economic model and values.
with a particular focus on creating impact or the European Green Deal, the digital and sustainability transition and recovery from the coronavirus-crisis.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions fund excellent research and innovation and equip researchers at all stages of their career with new knowledge and skills, through mobility across borders and exposure to different sectors and disciplines. The MSCA help build Europe’s capacity for research and innovation by investing in the long-term careers of excellent researchers.
The MSCA also fund the development of excellent doctoral and postdoctoral training programmes and collaborative research projects worldwide. By doing so, they achieve a structuring impact on higher education institutions, research centres and non-academic organisations.
The MSCA promote excellence and set standards for high-quality researcher education and training in line with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the recruitment of researchers.
There are 5 types of MSCA targeting different objectives.
Supporting programmes to train doctoral candidates in academic and non-academic organisations.
Supporting career perspectives and excellence of postdoctoral researchers.
Encouraging collaborations between organisations through staff exchanges.
Co-funding of regional, national and international programmes.
Bringing research and researchers closer to the public at large.

The EU continues to fund projects and joint actions that contribute to a healthier Europe. This is the fourth health programme, running from 2021 to 2027. The health programme represents an ambitious response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but goes beyond crisis response to address the resilience of European healthcare systems
Established by Regulation (EU) 2021/522, EU4Health brings an EU added value and complements the policies of the Member States to pursue four general objective representing the ambitions of the programme and ten specific objectives representing the areas of intervention:
- Improve and foster health
- Health promotion and disease prevention, in particular cancer
- International health initiatives and cooperation
- Protect people
- Prevention, preparedness and response to cross-border health threats
- Complementing national stockpiling of essential crisis-relevant products
- Establishing a reserve of medical, healthcare and support staff
- Access to medicinal products, medical devices and crisis-relevant products
- Ensuring that these products are accessible, available and affordable
- Strengthen health systems
- Reinforcing health data, digital tools and services, digital transformation of healthcare
- Enhancing access to healthcare
- Developing and implementing EU health legislation and evidence-based decision making
- Integrated work among national health systems
